Noise

In some occasions noise will be a key component of a planning application; this could be either the new development creating extra noise or the development being located in close proximity to a noise source, such as a railway line or industrial development.

In both of these instances the Council’s environmental health officers will be involved in the planning process. They will need to make sure that either neighbours aren’t harmed by a new noisy development or a new development isn’t too close to an existing noisy development.  When assessing a new development, our team will make a full assessment of any implications for noise and provide clarification on any noise assessments that may need to be submitted as part of a planning application.
